Heavy Duty Equipment Technician – Field Mechanic

Greater Vancouver, BC | $50–$55/hr | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

We’re looking for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join a tight equipment rental operation running a solid fleet of earthmoving equipment throughout the Lower Mainland.

The work is primarily field service, with some shop time as needed. You’ll be working out of a Ram 5500 service truck equipped with a crane and welder, heading out to customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment and get machines back earning their keep.

What You’ll Be Working On

- Excavators, wheel loaders, dozers and other heavy earthmoving equipment
- A fleet made up heavily of CAT, along with Hitachi and other makes
- Diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and controls
- Preventative maintenance, breakdowns and field repairs
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting — finding the problem instead of throwing parts at it
- Hydraulic repairs/modifications, welding and minor fabrication
- Equipment inspections, setup and general rental fleet maintenance

Most work is local throughout Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, so you’re home every night.

What We’re Looking For

- Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician




- Strong experience working on heavy construction/earthmoving equipment
- Solid mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Valid driver’s licence
- Dealer, rental, construction fleet or similar heavy equipment experience
- Diagnostic software experience is an asset, but strong hands-on troubleshooting experience matters most
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus

The Job

- $50–$55/hr, depending on experience — adaptable for the right tech
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
- 40 hours/week with overtime here and there
- Company service truck with crane and welder
- Primarily local field work — no long-haul travel
