Mechanics perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing on all types of vehicles, vehicle attachments and material handling equipment. This position requires you to work night shifts and partial weekends, as required. Inspect, service and maintain Intermodal cranes, terminal tractors, vehicles and equipment, in accordance with federal and company regulations, including changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts.
Diagnose diesel / gas engine, electrical, hydraulic, driveline malfunctions and making required repairs. Prepare inspection, maintenance, and work reports, and record details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures. Ability to work irregular shifts,
including evenings, midnights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Comply with secure work procedures and policies. Respirator use is required for certain tasks, with periodic audiometric testing and respirator fit testing conducted as needed Diesel mechanic, Automotive, Truck & Coach, Hydraulics experience. High School diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).
Diploma of Vocational Studies in Heavy Duty Mechanic.
Technical
Skills/Knowledge Technical knowledge of diesel mechanics. Must meet all medical fitness for duty requirements for the position, including requirements for Safety The Heavy Duty Mechanic must complete all training sessions as directed by the company. A successful completion of this training is essential for future performance of duties. #
