Are you an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician looking to build your skills and grow your career? As a Heavy Equipment Technician, 1st Year Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced Journeyperson technicians to help maintain and repair some of the largest and most advanced earthmoving equipment in the industry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to safety, eager to learn, and motivated to develop their technical expertise while contributing to reliable equipment performance and customer success.
Base Wage: $39.09 per hour
Location: Timmins, ON
Schedule: 7x7
What You'll Do
- Work alongside Journeyperson technicians to service, maintain, and repair heavy equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Complete inspections, lubrication, preventative maintenance, overhauls, and compliance checks under guidance.
- Support the repair and replacement of components, including engines, brakes, suspensions, and fuel systems.
- Use tools and equipment safely while following work orders, company procedures, and safe work practices.
- Contribute to timely, cost-effective repairs and a safe, organized work environment.
What You Bring You bring registration as a 1st Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice, or eligibility to register as an apprentice, along with the following:
- A strong commitment to safety and an interest in developing technical skills in the heavy equipment industry.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, complete physically demanding tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to meet customer site requirements, where applicable.
- Ability to travel when required by specific assignments or customer site needs.
