Inspiration Learning Center (Thornhill) is seeking an enthusiastic French Teacher. You will be teaching French for all grades (JK-G12) in private or small group settings, at our tutoring center. We provide some lesson plans and teaching materials although teachers may have to adjust them according to the student's particular situation.
Part-time employment
You must have a strong grasp of the French language A background in the French language (study/work/related experiences) is required
Experience with children or teaching is an asset, but not required

Job duties
· Instructs students, using a variety of teaching and assessment methods, for example, direct instruction, and student-directed learning, project/inquiry-based learning, educational technology as well as the use of presentation aids, etc.
· Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of region and school.
· Designs lessons and assesses student work in a timely fashion giving feedback for improvement.
· Administers tests to evaluate students' progress,
records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
· Maintains discipline in classroom by applying disciplinary measures when necessary.
· Meets with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and problems.
· Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
· Performs related duties, for example sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, student supervision and counselling student in adjustment and academic problems.
· Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
· Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
· Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations
· Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
· Perform certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support, counselling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement
· Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
Requirements
· University degree in a teachable subject
· Certified (or eligible to be certified) through the Ontario College of Teachers
· The ideal candidate will have experience with ESL as well
· Experience with virtual teaching methods preferred
· Experience with project based or inquiry based learning is an asset
· Ability to pass a criminal background check
· Knowledge and understanding of Ministry of Education and Training policies, compliance regulations and appropriate legislation
