School is seeking an Indigenous Education Advocate to support students academically, culturally, and emotionally. This role involves collaborating with teachers and families to drive student success while serving as a positive role model. You will provide assistance in literacy and numeracy programming, ensuring that Indigenous culture is celebrated within the learning workplace. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cultural, emotional, and academic support to Indigenous students
- Act as a positive role model promoting Indigenous pride
- Collaborate with teachers and families to enhance student success
- Assist in literacy and numeracy programming for Indigenous students
- Submit administrative reports to school and Indigenous Education Department Requirements:
- Grade 12 completion (Dogwood Certificate)
- Two years of relevant studies in Indigenous education
- Six months working experience with Indigenous students
- B.C. Driver's License class 5 with clean driving record
- Familiarity with local Indigenous communities and band offices Champion Indigenous education while fostering inclusivity and cultural pride in every student at Grassy Plains School.
