Help shape the future of Indigenous students as a Student Support Worker at Anne Roberts Young Elementary. This position emphasizes cultural enrichment while addressing educational and emotional needs within the school community. In this role, you will assist teachers and staff to ensure that the unique needs of Indigenous students are met.
You’ll engage in creating supportive environments, maintaining student records, and liaising between educational staff and Indigenous families. Collaboration and cultural insight will enhance each student's academic journey. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain student identification and consent forms
- Collaborate on schedules with educational staff
- Provide in-class academic support to Indigenous students
- Support students' cultural engagement and growth
- Attend relevant meetings and professional development sessions
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Recent experience with Indigenous community engagement
- Dependable transportation
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Pass a criminal record check prior to employment
