Company Description The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is one of Canada’s largest and most diverse health regions, serving over 700,000 residents in Winnipeg and nearby communities including East and West St. Paul and Churchill in northern Manitoba.

Role Description The Infection Control Nurse can be a full or part time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control measures within healthcare facilities, including surveillance of infections, data collection, and reporting.

Day-to-day tasks can very which keeps this individual on their toes (i.e., audits, risk assessments, education, developing/updating policies and procedures, collaborating with clinical teams/ occupational health/ leadership, managing outbreaks, promoting a culture of safety, participating in committees/ quality improvement initiatives, staying current on evidence/ guidelines in infection control and infectious diseases).

Qualifications:

- Robust infection prevention and control (IP&C;) skills,



including surveillance
- Clinical expertise in Nursing practice, understanding of medicine principles relevant to patient care
- Knowledge of Infectious Diseases, transmission routes, prevention, and outbreak management
- Current nursing license/registration in Manitoba (or eligibility), with experience in acute care or public health settings
- Certification in infection control (e.g., CIC) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Ability to interpret clinical/ epidemiological data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to diverse audiences
- Strong teaching, coaching, presentation skills to support staff education/ training on IP&C; pratices
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interprofessional teams, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively during outbreaks or emergencies.
