Requisition ID 103466-Posted 09/10/2026- Facility and Operational Support Full time Position, Day Shift The CACC Information Support Officer (CISO) reports to the Director of CACC. The CISO is responsible for the acquisition, management and development of all mission critical data and information used by the Ambulance Communications Officers during the receiving and prioritizing of 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and stakeholders such as hospitals and nursing homes across southeastern Ontario. The information is acquired from a number of stakeholders and takes a number of different forms, such as, digital geographic information, hazard identification in the community, information regarding critical infrastructure and paramedic services, multi-agency response protocols and location of public access defibrillator sites.
The information supports the accurate, timely and high-quality response of paramedic resources across southeastern Ontario. The CISO is responsible for the development and management of a number of comprehensive databases that support the operations of Kingston CACC. This information supports quality assurance programs, investigations, legislated documentation requirements, human resources information, and critical community infrastructure information.
The CISO is responsible for the analysis of Ambulance Dispatch Reporting System (ARDS) data and geographic information which supports decision making process for Kingston CACC as well as its stakeholders. The position is responsible for the maintenance, management and development of an internal computer network of 25 computers used by all staff within Kingston CACC. This network allows access to key KHSC IT resources as well as mission critical information used during the 9-1-1 emergency call taking and dispatching process.
The CISO ensures network must be maintained in a 24/7 environment in a cost effective and efficient manner.
The CISO is the first point of contact for IT related issues at Kingston CACC and works jointly with an on-site MOHLTC Technical Officer to troubleshoot issues and maintain Kingston CACC IT infrastructure. The CISO develops and maintains relationships with municipal, provincial and other stakeholders to develop, evaluate and maintain information and processes in order to support the accurate, timely and high-quality response of paramedic resources across southeastern Ontario.
The CISO uses dedicated mapping software to develop map solutions in collaboration with external partners and the Ministry of Health’s GIS technicians in Toronto; The CISO is responsible for the maintenance of the Kingston CACC contingency equipment at the Kingston CACC site as well as the off-site backup centre location. Manage and maintain mission critical data and information depended on to support the accurate, timely response of paramedic resources across southeastern Ontario. Develop, manage and maintain internal Kingston CACC IT resources such as computers, mobile phones, resource network hardware and manage internal processes.
Create templates, forms and checklists for use in paper as well as digital and database formats. Develop and maintain Kingston CACC database solutions on both the Ministry of Health secure Network as well as Kingston CACC Resource Network, manage and distribute all mission critical information within the Computerized Ambulance Dispatch (CAD) system and the Resource Network. Analyze ambulance dispatch data and geographic data to support decision making at Kingston CACC, stakeholder requests and ministry of health reporting requirements.
Jointly develop and maintain policies related to contingency and continuity of operations.
Minimum
Required - Completion of Community College Diploma (3-year program)
or equivalent experience Preferred - Completion of University degree or equivalent in related field (Preferred) Minimum Required - Minimum 5 years of experience supporting information systems, database management, geographic information systems (GIS), and technical operations within a complex emergency services, healthcare, or public safety environment.
