402 Bloomington Road, Aurora; and 11225 Leslie Street, Richmond Hill, ON. This position will require travel within York Region.

POSITION
The Information Technology (IT) Technician works alongside the Manager of Information Technology to support the agency's day-to-day technical operations. The role provides technical support and troubleshoots hardware, software, and network issues affecting users across the organization. The IT Technician also assists with Microsoft 365 administration and the development and implementation of computer system-related projects.
A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assists in promoting and supporting the Mission, Vision, and Values statements, ensuring adherence to operational and service policies and procedures while maintaining ethical conduct.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of ethical behaviour and professional conduct, including contributing to ensuring ethical standards are upheld and participation in quality improvement standards.
- Onboards new hires on IT requirements within the agency, including providing equipment needed and connectivity to the agency IT platform(s).
- Ensures compliance with organization IT security policies and data protection standards.
- Actively supports Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, including fostering a welcoming and safe space where people can expect to be treated fairly, equitably, and in a culturally responsive way.
Technical Support Responsibilities
- Monitors and responds to technical support requests from end users for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Installs, configures, and maintains desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices to ensure operational readiness.
- Diagnoses and resolves common operating system, application, and network connectivity issues, and escalates complex issues to the IT Manager as needed.
- Logs, tracks,
and updates support tickets using the agency's helpdesk/ticketing system in a timely manner.
- Assists with user account management, including password resets and access permissions.
- Maintains inventory of IT assets and assist with procurement as needed.
- Prepares, deploys, replaces, and decommissions computers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment in accordance with agency procedures.
- Provides day-to-day support for Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and related applications.
- Configures and troubleshoots agency-issued mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
- Assists with implementing and maintaining IT security measures, including multi-factor authentication, endpoint security, software updates, and user access controls.
- Assists with coordinating technical support, warranty service, repairs, and troubleshooting with third-party vendors and service providers as needed.
- Assists with maintaining and updating the agency website using WordPress.
- Provides training and guidance to end users on technology usage, security best practices, and IT policies.
- Maintains accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and support resources.
- Participates in IT projects, such as system updates, equipment rollout, and network cable installation, as assigned.
- Participates in all team and agency meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+) an asset.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a helpdesk or technical support role.
- Working knowledge of Windows and familiarity with various operating systems, including macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, user account administration, access permissions, and endpoint management.
- Working knowledge of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, wired and wireless networking, VPNs, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with website design and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Experience with ticketing/helpdesk software (e.g., Zendesk, Freshservice, ServiceNow) an asset.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently and independently.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Robust organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple support requests simultaneously.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity best practices (e.g., phishing awareness, password policies, endpoint protection).
- Valid Driver’s licence required and clear driver’s abstract, including proof of automobile insurance (for travel between office locations).
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed, and to work on-site as required.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required.

ON-BOARDING REQUIREMENTS:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check, within the last 180 days.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
- Completion of a Driver’s Abstract.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
