This is a Canadian-based position supporting commercial business across multiple regions. A more senior candidate may also be considered.

The role has a strong new business focus and requires someone who can confidently assess a steady flow of commercial submissions, build productive broker relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the portfolio. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while remaining highly collaborative with the broader underwriting team. Our client is an established Canadian Managing General Agent focused on specialty and complex commercial insurance risks.

The organization operates in an entrepreneurial underwriting environment and provides underwriters with exposure to a broad range of commercial risks rather than limiting them to narrowly defined market segments. The business includes a mix of casualty, property, construction-related, hospitality, and other specialty commercial classes. You can advocate for your position while remaining open to feedback, coaching, and alternative approaches.

You enjoy developing broker relationships and understand how strong service, responsiveness, and underwriting judgment can help generate better submission flow and stronger hit ratios. An MGA or specialty insurance background would be highly valued,



although strong commercial underwriting experience from an insurer environment may also be considered.
