Intermediate/Senior Science /Math Teacher
We are seeking a full-time Intermediate/Senior Science and Mathematics teacher to begin in September 2026. Candidates must be qualified to teach Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, and Algebra, and hold current OCT certification. We welcome both new and experienced teachers who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, strong classroom leadership, and the holistic development of students grounded in faith, discipline, and service.
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Intermediate/Senior math and science that align with Ontario curriculum standards.
· Experience teaching within a Canadian school setting
· Assess student progress and provide individualized support, including tutoring and assistance for students with special education needs.
· Plan, assess, and deliver curriculum in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
· Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the learning experience.
· Utilize laboratory and virtual science labs, as well as math technology, to facilitate hands-on learning opportunities.
About Attawapiskat First Nation
Attawapiskat is a remote fly-in Cree community on the west coast of James Bay and north of Timmins. Vezina Secondary School is a Grade 9 to Grade 12 school, with the student population of about 150.
The school year calendar reflects the culture and interests of the community and staff.
