Detective Level1, Investigator Ministry : Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction Full or Part-Time : Full time Permanent/Temporary/Wage : Permanent Salary : $2,562.61 to $3,361.54 bi-weekly ($66,884- $87,736/year) Join the Consumer Investigations Unit (CIU) as an entry-level Investigator and help ensure a fair and transparent marketplace. As an Investigator with the CIU, you will play a vital role in supporting consumer protection by conducting investigations, enforcing consumer protection legislation, and addressing complaints related to theft, fraud, forgery, and other delegated offences. You’ll work closely with law enforcement agencies, Crown Prosecutors, and stakeholders to ensure consistent enforcement of legislation and promote public confidence in the marketplace.
Researching legislation and participating in drafting/executing search warrants and production orders. Preparing court documents, serving summonses, and subpoenaing witnesses. Explaining consumer protection legislation to the public and business community.
Participating in team investigations and legislative review projects. Providing feedback and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Analytical Thinking : Ability to assess evidence, identify patterns,
and draw accurate conclusions to support enforcement actions.

Creative
Problem-Solving : Identifying innovative solutions to resolve complaints and promote compliance. University degree in Criminology, Law enforcement, Investigations or a related field, in addition to: Willingness to obtain Peace Officer status and adhere to departmental policies.
