As a Junior Mine Waste/Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management systems, gaining hands‑on experience in field investigations, analysis, and project delivery while helping shape the future of mining infrastructure.

Conduct geotechnical site investigations and dam construction quality assurance fieldwork to support safe and reliable mine waste facilities. Interpret site investigation and laboratory testing data to inform engineering decisions and project recommendations. Prepare and contribute to technical reports, assessments, and project documentation.

Perform stability, seepage, and liquefaction analyses to evaluate facility performance and risk. Support the development and implementation of mine waste management strategies and plans. Monitor and evaluate the performance of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management systems.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, environmental scientists, water resource engineers, and project managers. Provide technical support during project planning, design, construction, and operational phases. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline. ~ Robust understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and industry best practices. ~0 to 3 years of experience in mine waste management,



geotechnical engineering, mining, or a related field. ~ Experience using geotechnical software such as GeoStudio. ~ registration or active registration with a provincial engineering association. ~ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data. ~ Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites and perform fieldwork as required.

Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and mining industry standards. Exposure to project coordination or project management activities.

$66,300 – $88,000 The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
