Kitchen, Bath & Flooring Design Consultant

Job Summary The Kitchen, Bath & Flooring Design Consultant delivers expert sales leadership and design expertise to walk-in customers and contractors in kitchen, bath, flooring, and related product categories. This results-focused role is accountable for generating sales, driving revenue growth, and delivering high-impact design solutions that align with clients’ budgets, timelines, and aesthetic goals. The Consultant assumes full ownership of each project from initial consultation through final installation, ensuring execution excellence and an outstanding customer experience that builds repeat and referral business.

This position requires a robust commitment to performance, including the ability to work a structured schedule aligned with store hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Success in this role demands flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours as necessary to meet sales targets, customer expectations, project deadlines, installations, and peak business periods.

This position includes a commission-based pay structure, providing earnings based on sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage and sell to walk-in customers and contractors, identifying new sales opportunities and project leads

· Measure, plan, and design kitchen and bathroom projects using 2020 Design or similar design in collaboration with homeowners and contractors

· Sell both in-stock and special-order products

· Develop solutions that meet customer budgets, timelines, and functional needs

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time-management and organizational skills

· Stay current on industry trends, new products, and market developments

· Follow up on project completion to ensure customer satisfaction

· Address warranty claims, damage issues, and service concerns in a timely and professional manner

· Schedule deliveries, stage orders, and coordinate installation





· Maintain clean and organized kitchen and flooring sample displays after presentations and as needed

· Participate in flooring sales events, trade shows, store meetings, inventory counts, and training sessions

· Meet or exceed sales goals and budget expectations

· Handle customer sales, collections, scheduling, problem resolution, complaints, and installation coordination as required

· Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management

· Must be available to work a structured schedule during regular store hours, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility to adjust for installations, deliveries, client appointments, and peak seasons.

· Willingness to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts as needed to support customer needs, sales events, project deadlines, and overall business demands.

Qualifications & Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset

· 2+ years of retail or specialty sales experience (home improvement preferred)

· Experience with contractors or renovation projects an asset

· Knowledge of kitchen, bath, and flooring products; design software experience is an asset

· Strong sales, customer service, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets

· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required (Full G license)

· Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation: · Commission-based pay structure tied to sales performance.

Reporting Relationship

- Reports directly to the General Manager and Store Owner

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $24.30 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
