Our Laboratory Services

Department uses state of the art equipment,



technology and processes to collect and test clinical specimens in order to obtain information about the health of our patients so that our inter-professional teams can diagnose, treat and prevent disease.

Our Laboratory

Assistants (Laboratory Technician III) perform blood collection, prepare specimens and maintain the facilities and equipment. Are you a Laboratory Assistant (Laboratory Technician III) with 2 years of experience in performing phlebotomy of adults, children and neonates?

Temporary Full Time Duration: March 2027 subject to change as per Article HRH 2 – Management Rights Hours of Work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings and/or weekends including commitment of hours as per the Collective Agreement - subject to change as per operational needs and Article HRH 2 – Management Rights Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site - subject to change as per operational needs andArticle HRH 2 – Management Rights Labour Group: Manager, Laboratory Services Hourly Rate: $32.59 - $37.26 Phlebotomy, central processing and ECGs. Microbiology planting. Dispensing/Discarding duties for Histology department.

Can be assigned /trained in other Laboratory Disciplines Laboratory Assistant Technician Certificate.

Medical Laboratory

Professionals’ Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and/or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS/SCSLM)



certification Minimum 2 years’ experience in performing phlebotomy of adults, children and neonates.

Experience in microbiology planting an asset.

Experience in performing ECG’s an asset. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work alone or in a team. An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
