We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician in a permanent full-time position to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Calgary Plant. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process workplace. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a quality plan to drive continuous improvement in plant performance, and assuring that finished product complies with company, industry and government standards.

or equipment Implements ongoing quality improvement processes and procedures working with interdepartmental teams and with the involvement of the production employees Support the development and implementation of a quality plan to drive continuous improvement in plant performance Measures quality assurance metrics to opportunities for improvement, progress on goals and accountability for performance Identifies, troubleshoots and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems Escalate quality assurance issues to the Quality team and Plant management on a timely basis Ensures that the Lab equipment is calibrated and in good condition and communicates material and spare requirements in advance Collates and analyses performance data and charts against defined parameters Works with shipping to ensure that outgoing products are sorted segregated, isolated and downgraded as per disposition from the quality team Diploma or Degree in a Science related field ~1-3 years of experience in an industrial process manufacturing environment in a quality assurance role with hands-on experience with quality management systems preferred ~ Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint ~ Experience working in a Laboratory environment and calibrating troubleshooting instruments will be an asset ~ Ability to prioritize tasks a fast-paced environment where tests results may be required quickly ~ Ability to work diligently without supervision ~ Able to help QA/QC supervisor with tasks assigned Diversity and Equal Opportunity Employment We are committed to diversity and inclusion and are pleased to consider all qualified applicants for employment without consideration to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status or disability. encourages and welcomes applications from people with disabilities.
