About the Role The Senior Science Laboratory Coordinator supports and enhances the secondary science program by ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant operation of all laboratory activities. This role partners closely with faculty,
Facilities, and external suppliers to deliver high-quality laboratory experiences aligned with Alberta Education standards and provincial safety legislation.
- Provide skilled, reliable support within the science teams
- Contribute to a positive, welcoming environment for students, families, and colleagues.
- Perform role-specific responsibilities aligned with WIC’s mission and values
What You Bring
- Post-secondary diploma or certification in Laboratory Technology or a relevant science discipline with a laboratory component
- Knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S;) legislation related to laboratory environments
- Current Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Current knowledge of chemical hazards, safe handling and disposal practices
- Minimum of one year of directly related experience
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemical preparation, and risk mitigation practices
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR/AED certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
