LASER PROGRAMMER / OPERATOR Store Fixture Manufacturing

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: Production / Laser

Shift: Day Shift with Overtime and Weekend Work as Required

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laser Programmer / Operator to join our store fixture manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating a TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 Fiber laser cutting machine, while ensuring that production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements are met.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate production documentation, and work effectively under tight delivery deadlines.

When laser production is not busy, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in other areas of the manufacturing operation as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Program and operate a TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 Fiber laser cutting machine.
- Review engineering drawings, CAD files, work orders, and production requirements.
- Prepare and optimize laser programs for effective material utilization and production.
- Set up and operate the laser safely and efficiently.
- Select appropriate materials, tooling, cutting parameters, and machine settings.
- Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Identify and report quality issues, machine problems, and material concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records, job documentation, and material usage records.
- Organize and prioritize work according to production schedules and delivery requirements.
- Work effectively under pressure when dealing with urgent customer and delivery deadlines.
- Complete jobs accurately with minimum supervision.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.




- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials, finished parts, and other production materials.
- Assist other departments when laser workload is low, including general production and manufacturing duties.
- Work cooperatively with production, welding, fabrication, shipping, and management teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience programming and operating fiber laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a TRUMPF TruLaser 3030 Fiber is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD drawings.
- Experience with laser programming/nesting software.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal, gauge/thickness, material types, and fabrication processes.
- Valid forklift licence/certification and demonstrated experience operating a forklift.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to maintain electronic and written documentation.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make appropriate production decisions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing workplace.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow production schedules and meet strict customer delivery deadlines.
- Must be willing and available to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Must be flexible and willing to assist in other production departments when the laser department is not busy.

What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be a dependable, organized, hands-on employee who takes ownership of their work. This position requires someone who can prioritize jobs, meet demanding production deadlines, maintain accurate records, and keep the laser department operating efficiently. The candidate must also be willing to contribute to the overall production operation rather than being limited to laser duties. When laser production is slow, the employee will be expected to assist other departments as required.

Compensation Salary/Wage: Competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
