Salary: $20/hour - $45/hour

We're working with a law firm seeking a Law Clerk to support a broad civil litigation and solicitor-side practice.

This is a remote contract role starting around November 1. The role is expected to start on a part-time basis, with the potential for hours to increase based on workflow and fit.

The firm is looking for someone organized, tech-savvy, communicative, and comfortable working independently. The right person will be able to think through tasks, manage files carefully, and use good judgment while knowing when to ask questions or escalate.

Responsibilities:

- Managing client intake and onboarding
- Maintaining file organization and document management
- Assisting with calendar management and scheduling

- Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing legal documents
- Supporting civil litigation files, including court-related tasks and motion records
- Supporting solicitor work, including real estate transactions, wills, and contract drafting

- Assisting with general bookkeeping and trust reconciliations
- Using legal and office software, including LEAP, Adobe, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and related tools
- Communicating with clients, lawyers, courts, and other parties as needed

Qualifications:

- Law clerk experience or law clerk training is preferred




- Strong organization skills
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently in a remote setting

- Able to think through tasks and use good judgment
- Comfortable learning and adapting to different technologies and CRM systems
- Experience with civil litigation, real estate, wills, or contract drafting is an asset

- Experience with LEAP, Adobe, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and motion records is an asset
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are a strong asset
- Other language skills are also an asset

- Toronto or GTA-based candidates are preferred, as occasional courthouse attendance may be helpful, but this is not required

Compensation:

- $20.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience

- Vacation time is flexible with advance notice
- The role does not include benefits
