Overall Responsibility The Lead Quality Technician is integral to upholding and enhancing the daily operations of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role directly supports key departmental objectives and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the QMS.
Keys Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to prioritize and execute assigned quality projects, accurately maintaining all necessary documentation.
- Conduct routine plant walk-throughs to inspect production lines, finished products, and packaging, ensuring adherence to quality standards and proper record-keeping.
- Actively participate in investigations of customer complaints and non-conforming products (QANs), including identifying, isolating, and documenting.
- Contribute to the internal audit team, supporting the ongoing assessment and improvement of quality processes.
- Provide essential support overall QMS.
- Deliver quality training to new hires and facilitate retraining sessions as needed.
- Assist in conducting analyses to identify trends, determine root causes of potential issues, and provide data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the integrity of critical control processes, such as treater monitoring systems, vision inspection, and sigma/Kundig equipment, participate in correction of the issue and report if deviation is noticed.
- Support the creation and revision of controlled documents within the designated system (e.g., CPro).
- If necessary, provide support to Quality Technicians
- Drive and participate in automation/digitization of QMS documentation and processes
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support quality initiatives

Experience Required
- Experience in a Quality field with exposure to root cause analysis problem solving skills is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in Quality Assurance or Science-based program and/or acceptable combination of education, training and experience is considered an asset
- Familiarity within a manufacturing environment
