Licensed Carpenter – With Advancement Opportunities

Job Type: Full-time, 1-Year Contract with possibility of permanent full-time employment at year end

Pay: $40–$45 per hour

About the Position

Snyder Construction is currently looking for an experienced, licensed carpenter to join our team. This position is suited to a skilled carpenter who is looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to move into a Working Supervisor capacity.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in carpentry and construction work while gradually taking on additional responsibility for coordinating and supervising site activities.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work, can lead by example, and is interested in developing their supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform skilled carpentry and general construction work.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Assist with coordinating day-to-day site activities.
- Assist workers with their responsibilities.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors as required.
- Help monitor workmanship, productivity, and project progress.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
- Help identify and resolve construction issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work site.

Qualifications & Skills

- Valid Carpenter's licence is required.




- Several years of hands-on carpentry and construction experience.
- Experience with ICI and private commercial, and residential construction projects.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Fall Arrest certification.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Sound knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and safety requirements.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid Class G driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.

Additional Requirements

- Travel of more than two hours may be required for certain job sites.
- Security clearance checks are required for some government projects.
- Some weekend and night work is required depending on project requirements.
