SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft pleadings,
- Utilize Litigation Support Software to manage document production, disclosureand organization, including the following tasks:
- data entry to objectively code documents
- preparation of Affidavits Disclosing Documents (including review and redactfor privilege and relevance);
- compile Books of Evidence/Exhibits;
- document production;
- import documents received from opposing counsel;
- prepare legal chronologies;
- Record all billable and non-billable functions on a daily basis;
- Utilize computer technology in an efficient and productive manner;
- General office and clerical duties, including billable and non-billablefunctions;
- Other duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a litigation paralegal/legal assistant, withpreference given to those who have completed a recognized paralegal programor equivalent;
- Previous experience using litigation support software (ie: Discovery Local orCasePoint) is an asset;
- Excellent technical skills and exceptional attention to detail;
- Accurate and efficient data entry and keyboarding skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meettight deadlines;
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ademonstrated ability to provide superior customer service;
- Knowledge of the Nova Scotia Civil Procedure Rules is an asset;
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic setting.
