LLRC Dene Land Based Consultant

(2026-2027 School Year Contract)

MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve

those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First

MLTC Education is seeking a highly motivated dynamic individual to join as Dene Land Based Consultant. The LLRC Land-Based Consultant will implement and support the Land, Language, Relationships, and Culture foundations within the position, which includes but

is not limited to: work plans, projects, initiatives, resources, planning, collaborations, etc. The LLRC Land-Based Consultant will report directly to the Superintendent of Education and will work with our nine (9) member First

Nations in the Land-Based foci. This individual will coordinate different activities in each community dependent on their level of land-based experience, and assist these communities in determining where they are in the land-based continuum.





Create and support land-based development in alignment with land, language, relationship & culture (LLRC) initiatives. This position is based out of the MLTC Buffalo Narrows Sub-Office Location.

Duties & Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to):

· Responsible for the implementation of school-based needs and providing long-range second-level service & delivery – modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessment.

· Monitoring and follow-up on project timelines.

· Facilitation of PD presentation (provide rationale for contract requests/fee for service for PD, school-based needs, and external consultants, content development, resource material preparation)

· Support for all event planning details and collaboration with team members.

· Coach, model, and demonstrate land-based activities

· Support Treaty Education initiatives.

Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum

· A Bachelor’s Degree in Education

· Saskatchewan Qualified A Teachers’ Certification or the ability to obtain such standing; and a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience.

Preferred





· Master’s Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate to LLRC initiatives.

· Experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities.

Other

· Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work within a team setting and independently.

· Fluent in the Dene language and have experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities is a definite asset.

· Support land-based education in connection to language revitalization.

· Awareness of cultural protocols of Dene First Nations.

· Awareness of protocols working with Elders from different First Nations.

· Experience or knowledge of iPad/Smart Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Suite
