Purpose of the Position:

The Loss Prevention Analyst plays a critical role in protecting company assets, supporting operational integrity, and ensuring a strong financial control environment across all Canadian operations. Through data analysis, investigations, auditing, and security oversight, this role helps prevent, detect, and resolve fraud, theft, and policy violations.

Position Scope:

This role supports Loss Prevention initiatives across more than 250 company-operated restaurants throughout Canada, spanning our four iconic brands: KFC, Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Burger King. It is a hybrid position, consisting of 75% in restaurant and 25% work from home as aligned with business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

- Leading investigations to identify fraudulent activity in store. Tools that are used include but are not limited to spot checks, high resolution digital CCTV and advanced interviewing skills.
- Analysis of store KPI’s using reporting tools such as Ezora/NBO to identify outliers & key financial risks – which will cover breaches of financial controls, errors & fraud. Examples include:

Analyzing COS reports to identify any irregular behaviors & potential manipulation or theft. Reviewing trends with labour & verifying any abnormalities.

Ensuring customer discounts, manager discounts, coupons & staff meal entry are completed with integrity.

- Maintaining alarm codes for management within all locations while ensuring confidentiality & policy is enforced.
- Updating emergency call lists.
- Completing construction layouts for cameras & alarm systems.
- Managing the Ezora Loss Prevention Reconciliation page while providing follow up & training where required on Critical issues.
- Working with vendors to ensure camera & alarm equipment is fully functional. Minor trouble shooting of systems is required and raising Purchase Orders.
- Identifying & creating new areas of focus regarding LP within the business & leading new projects.




- Designing training documents when required to support Loss Prevention measures.
- Assisting with the completion of in store audits (FCA’s) on a risk-based level to ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures.
- Regular communication with Operations on critical business risks identified through in-store visits & reporting tools.
- Coaching of restaurant teams and above restaurant leaders on management of cash & security policies within store.

People Leadership:

No direct reports.

Working Relationships:

Operations (RGM, Area Coach, Regional Leads), HR (Business Partners and RTL’s), Finance, Payroll, IT, Security Vendors and Law Enforcement Authorities.

Knowledge and Skill Required:

- Possess a good understanding of the processes involved in maintaining a strongly controlled environment with

the ability to evaluate & recommend changes to current company procedures.
- Support investigations, including evidence gathering, report preparation, recommendations, and support for disciplinary outcomes.
- Must be enthusiastic and a have passion for the business.
- Ability to drill down data and get to the bottom of an issue by analysing patterns and abnormalities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools preferred. Ability to organise and prioritise a variety of tasks and follow through to completion.
- Written and oral communication skills should be of a very high calibre as the individual will be required to deal with senior management and the Operations team on a regular basis.
- Strong team player.
- Display a flexible, responsible, and professional attitude including Canadian travel.
- Ability to cope under pressure to meet the demands of a busy workload.
- A combination of attention to detail and understanding of the bigger "Company" picture.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience preferred in a multi-unit retail or restaurant loss prevention role.
- An understanding of physical security standards.
- An understanding of the Canadian criminal justice system.
- The ability to conduct complex internal investigations and bring them to a successful conclusion up to and including termination.
