We are looking for an experienced Machinist based out of our manufacturing facility in Bassano, Alberta. You will be a part of a positive, respectful environment where we take genuine pride in all that we do and are passionate about ensuring the success of our customers and our employees.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Machinist will support the manufacturing of GPT Products.

Job Duties

- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
- Operate manual lathes, mills and drill presses
- Operate bandsaws and iron workers
- Clean and deburr parts
- Operate a forklift when required
- Computer dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces
- Verify dimensions of parts machined for accuracy and conformance to specifications
- Participate, suggest, and look for ways to contribute to continuous improvement activities
- Have a proactive attitude towards health and safety,



follow all company policies/procedures to ensure safe operations of all duties
- Assist other departments as needed

Qualifications

- Journeyperson qualifications an asset but not required
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years of related experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, charts, and tables
- Detail orientated with pride in the work produced
- Working in a team environment
- Decision making, critical thinking and problem solving
- Job task planning and organizing
- Computer use
- Strong commitment to working in a safe manner
- Must have reliable transportation to Bassano facility
- Willingness to alter shift times as required by
