U-Mix Products Company, a NEBCO Company, provides bagged products and silos of concrete-related building material. The U-Mix production facility annually produces more than 2 million individual bags of construction materials and distributes them to home improvement stores and wholesale distribution centers throughout Nebraska and western Iowa. NEBCO is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated business, with more than 1,100 employees spanning 50 locations across Nebraska. U-Mix Products Company is looking for a high performing maintenance technician to join our team. This position is r esponsible for the daily repair, upkeep of plants, equipment and property of U-Mix and provide product/equipment transport when necessary.

Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Ensure safe and effective operation of the shop through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the facilities. Inspects and diagnoses machine technical problems in an accurate and timely manner.

Works in a manufacturing setting that requires welding, torching, cutting, and fabrication on various items for the purpose of building and maintaining the equipment and operating conditions while ensuring safety. Request parts, equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items. Transports various items, such as tools, equipment, and supplies, to other plants, job sites, or affiliated companies &/or pick up product from affiliated companies, as needed,



to ensure availability of materials required.

As needed, use a skid-loader, forklift, and/or loader to work around the plant and dredge. Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Assists in performing preventative maintenance on equipment.

Operates plant based on production schedules to assure appropriate sequence of operations. Keeps plant facilities clean and safe for efficient operation and notifies appropriate personnel of any problems. High School diploma or general education degree (GED): and an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Valid Commercial

Driver’s License (Class A) is helpful but not required. Must be able to work a 45 hr shift per week. Must have basic working skills and demonstrated ability in electrical, mechanical and plumbing. Welding and cutting torch skills are preferred.

Basic knowledge of the operation and maintenance of small diesel motors and standard motor vehicles. Must have a good sense of detail and work to maintain a clean and safe plant environment. Must be able to operate with minimal supervision, be a trouble shooter and take initiative to investigate and resolve problems.
