Who we're looking for:
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to help us keep our Vehicle Logistic Center (VLC) in top shape. Ideally, experience includes planning and ensuring preventative maintenance/service schedules are followed, partnering with sub-contractors as needed, and monitoring the overall facility for potential areas needing attention.
You Are:
- Organized. You will balance requests from our VLC operations team to ensure facility maintenance, repair, and special projects are completed in a timely manner.
- Detailed. You have a keen attention to detail and ensure the site maintains a professional appearance.
- Proactive. You identify opportunities for improvement, and take initiative to enhance the appearance, cleanliness, and productivity of our VLC facilities.
- Collaborative. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and leaders in other VLC departments to respond to requests.
- Handy . Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to pitch in, you are experienced in a variety of maintenance tasks including minor equipment repairs.
- Safety-conscious. You pay attention to your surroundings and work safely and carefully.
You Will:
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of OPENLANE policies, processes,
and procedures and the tools used by our facilities and VLC team.
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear, tear, neglect, damage, previous repair, or required maintenance.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all VLC equipment and facilities.
- General custodial duties, including cleaning of floors & sale lanes.
- Groundskeeping to maintain a qualified exterior appearance.
- Coordinate subcontractors for maintenance and repair work, as needed.
- Identify needs for major and minor maintenance projects, developing proposals, sourcing quotes, and planning workflow to minimize operational impact.
- Monitor equipment, spare parts, and supply inventories, optimizing stock levels and placing necessary orders.
- Coordinate urgent service requests and breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist Operations Manager with identifying and completing maintenance projects and repair.
- Snow removal and de-icing of lots, driveways, and evacuation paths.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
Must Haves:
- 3+ years experience in a facilities maintenance/management role
- Valid Class 5 Drivers' license is required
- Basic computer and smartphone skills
- Skilled/experienced in operating snowplows, Bobcats and loaders
Nice to Haves:
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
- Loader Operator License
- Experience coordinating subcontractors
