The Strategy & Corporate Development Team’s key responsibility is to provide high quality business & strategy consulting and corporate development / M&A; services for Fidelity Canada and to support the most senior stakeholders across the organization. This is achieved by establishing strong relationships with these client groups while meeting the needs and interest of all stakeholders.

The Strategy & Corporate Development Manager (internal title: Corporate Development Manager) will operate as part of various teams through working groups and steering committees on a variety of efforts. This role will reside in the Finance & Corporate Services department, specifically on the Corporate Development team reporting to the Director, Corporate Development. The role may also work with the Fidelity Business Consulting team at FIL for wider Fidelity International imperatives.

Consulting - Provide high quality business consulting services and advice to senior-level stakeholders in region, to support achievement of Fidelity’s strategic objectives.

Corporate

Development - Support Fidelity Canada in the sourcing, qualification, diligence, and execution of corporate development actions (e.g., Competitor & Market Research - Generating insight from trends, disruptions, innovations, and challenges that may impact our industry, markets, clients, and business propositions, and using knowledge of Fidelity and of our corporate ecosystem to determine the likely impact and response.

Strong stakeholder management skills: confidence and ability to engage with and suitably challenge senior managers. Demonstrate good project management skills. Independent, curious, Risk Taker. Can thrive in fast-paced workplace where business conditions and projects have tight deadlines and can continually change.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. 4+ years experience working in a strategy consulting, corporate development, finance, or strategy & planning department. ~ Financial Services industry experience is preferred, with a strong foundational understanding of the global asset and wealth management sector, including retail and workplace investing, competitive landscape, products / proposition, client segments and regulatory environment. ~ Additional formal business education, training, designations (e.g. MBA/CPA/CA/CMA/CGA) would be an asset.
