The Child and Family Programs (CFP) Division, Ministry of Social Services is seeking an experienced employee who is a dynamic and creative leader as Manager, Out of Home Care. Reporting to the Director, Out of Home Care, the employee will oversee the out of home care resource continuum including Out of Home Care, service delivery to foster families and extended families, Family Connections, and placements. In this assignment, the employee will be responsible for the oversight and management of these programs along with data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure that services delivered by CFP are effective, efficient and support the Ministry’s strategic direction.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to a team of Supervisors and staff in the North service area, as such some travel will be required. The successful candidate will have significant leadership experience and will have obtained the knowledge and abilities required for this position through a university degree in human services (Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, etc.), along with extensive knowledge and experience in Child and Family Programs and of its corresponding Acts and Regulations. Provide leadership and guidance to Ministry staff in delivering initiatives that support healthy families and community self-reliance.

Technical

Knowledge and Skills Typically, the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role are obtained through a degree in Social Work or a related human services discipline, combined with progressive management experience in a human services environment and several years of supervising professional staff within Child and Family Programs.
