The Shift
Manager leads production and operational activities within a high-volume automotive assembly workplace. This role is responsible for achieving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives while developing team members, resolving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement. Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
Monitor production schedules and effectively allocate people and resources to meet customer requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving broadcast and sequencing systems, including line escalations and production disruptions. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Logistics to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Support the implementation of engineering and process changes, ensuring effective communication and execution on the production floor.
Conduct Training Within
Industry (TWI) activities to establish standardized work and improve training effectiveness.
Implement and sustain 5S practices and ensure compliance with plant standards. Conduct routine process verifications, workstation audits, and follow-up activities to maintain quality, safety, and process compliance.
Support PFMEA activities by identifying process risks and implementing appropriate controls and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, environmental standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, accountability, and respect. 3+ years of leadership experience in a Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment. ~ Experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, sequencing, or a similar high-volume production environment preferred. ~ Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement principles. ~ Working knowledge of Process Control Plans (PCPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), rework processes, and PFMEA. ~ Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies. ~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. ~ Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve operational issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. ~ Ability to establish accountability, drive performance, and maintain a positive team environment. ~ Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes, technologies, and manufacturing systems. ~ Action-oriented approach with a commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business,
