Mechanical Project Manager

Build the North. Lead great projects. Make your mark.

Good projects need great people. We’re looking for our next one.

At Natik Projects (2007) Inc., we build the mechanical systems that keep northern communities running—from heating homes through Arctic winters to bringing schools, housing, and essential community facilities to life.

With more than 30 years of experience in Canada’s North, our work spans plumbing, heating, HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, insulation, and building automation.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and leading a team toward a successful finish.

The opportunity

Northern construction takes preparation, resourcefulness, and a sense of adventure. Shipping windows matter. Weather keeps you on your toes. A well-planned delivery can make everyone’s week.

You’ll manage mechanical construction projects from award through commissioning and turnover, working closely with our construction management team, foremen, project coordinators, clients, and consultants.

This is an opportunity to bring your experience and ideas to a growing company, build strong relationships, and deliver projects you’ll be proud to put your name on.

What you’ll lead

- Project delivery: Take ownership of scope, schedules, budgets, procurement, and execution from start to finish.
- Team coordination: Give foremen and coordinators clear priorities, help resolve challenges, and keep everyone working toward the same milestones.
- Northern logistics: Plan materials, equipment, shipping, and site requirements around remote access and seasonal delivery windows.
- Financial performance: Track labour, purchasing, committed costs, and forecasts. Identify risks early and act before they become expensive problems.
- Technical coordination: Review drawings and specifications, manage RFIs and submittals, and coordinate mechanical systems with other trades.
- Change management: Identify scope changes,

prepare pricing, document impacts, and follow through on approvals.
- Client relationships: Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, consultants, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Safety and quality: Support our commitment to safe production through practical planning, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through.
- Project closeout: Coordinate commissioning, deficiencies, documentation, and turnover so projects finish as strongly as they start.
- Continuous improvement: Bring ideas that help us plan better, communicate clearly, and deliver more efficiently.

What you bring You know mechanical construction, understand the numbers, and can keep a team moving when priorities compete. You’re comfortable making decisions, asking the right questions, and taking responsibility for the outcome.

We’re looking for:

- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in mechanical construction, including responsibility for budgets, schedules, procurement, and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of commercial, institutional, or multi-family mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, and HVAC.
- Demonstrated experience with cost forecasting, labour tracking, change orders, and subcontractor coordination.
- Confidence reading mechanical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Practical experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, scheduling tools, and construction management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, organize competing priorities, and follow through on commitments.

- A willingness to travel to northern project sites as required.

Qualifications that help you stand out
- PMP — Project Management Skilled.
- RSE — Red Seal Endorsement in a relevant mechanical trade, such as plumbing, steamfitting/pipefitting, or refrigeration and air conditioning.
- GSC — Gold Seal Certification, preferably in Project Management.
- C.E.T. — Certified Engineering Technologist, or a relevant engineering technology, engineering, or construction management diploma or degree.
- Experience working in Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, or other remote construction environments.
- Experience managing projects with demanding logistics, seasonal shipping, and multiple active sites.

You don’t need every designation listed above. We value practical mechanical knowledge, a proven record of delivering projects, and a commitment to continued professional growth. Why join Natik?
- Build something meaningful: Deliver housing, facilities, and infrastructure that northern communities depend on.
- Take real ownership: Lead your projects and see the results of your planning and decisions.
- Keep things interesting: Work through challenges that sharpen your skills and reward ingenuity.
- Make your ideas count: Help improve our processes and contribute to the next stage of Natik’s growth.
- Share the wins: There’s real satisfaction in seeing a building come to life after your team has worked hard to get it there.
- Experience the North: Work with northern communities and discover a part of Canada few people get to know.

Ready for your next challenge? Send us your résumé and tell us about a project you’re proud of, the role you played, and what made it a success.

Bring your experience, your ideas, and your sense of adventure. Let’s build the North together.
