The Mechanical
Technician position is responsible to complete work assignments as issued. As an important part of the maintenance team you will ensure work is completed as assigned in order to facilitate a protected reliable facility operation.
Maintenance Mechanical Technician: Will report to the Mechanical Lead, Maintenance Supervisor. Work includes equipment overhauls and alignments, mechanical seal replacement and repair, new equipment installation, and preventive/predictive and corrective maintenance. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to restore reliable operation.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections to support equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as required when time allows.
Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Perform clean up duties in conjunction with other jobs in progress in all plant areas. Take steps to prevent environmental releases, report all spills immediately, and ensure cleanup is completed promptly. Meet maintenance work scheduling, job related planning and efficient project completion.
Keep supervisor informed of any material losses or unusual occurrences. Complete work order documentation, including labour, materials, findings, and follow-up requirements in the maintenance management system.
Support contractors and vendors as required during maintenance, repair, inspection, and commissioning activities.
Journeyperson
Millwright certification, Mechanical Technician certification, or equivalent trade qualification. Must hold a valid class 5 driver's license. Proficient in the use of business software Field-based role in an outdoor environment — PPE provided. ~Work Monday to Thursday in 9-hour shifts, with alternating Fridays off or worked as 8-hour days — giving you a long weekend every second week while averaging 80 hours over two weeks. ~ May involve working at heights and near hazardous materials. ~ This job is subject to background checks as outlined in Gibson Energy’s Background Checks policy.

This terminal is a world-class liquids terminal and export facility with very large crude carrier (VLCC) capabilities and direct pipeline connections to key basins like the Permian and Eagle Ford. The acquisition strengthens Gibson's cash flow with over 95% of the revenue under take-or-pay contracts with high-quality counterparties.
