Become a Crisis Worker with CMHA Peel Dufferin and help transform lives through mental health support. This full-time position involves phone and field-based crisis intervention in a community setting. We are looking for a dedicated Crisis Worker to join our committed health team.
You will engage directly with individuals facing mental health crises, providing timely triage services, conducting safety assessments, and forming team-oriented relationships with local support agencies. Daily, you will focus on making a positive impact in your community. Key Responsibilities:
- Triage crisis calls and deliver immediate support
- Conduct mental health risk assessments and evaluations
- Develop and implement intervention plans collaboratively
- Partner with law enforcement for mobile assessments
- Provide thorough follow-up with clients following crises
Requirements:
- University degree in Psychology, Nursing, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in mental health
- Familiar with mental health legislation and intervention practices
- Openness to continuous learning and diversity training
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and work 12-hour shifts
