Support the mental wellbeing of varsity student-athletes at UBC through focused counselling and performance coaching. This role emphasizes mental health services to enhance both wellbeing and performance. The University of British Columbia seeks a Counsellor specializing in Varsity Athletics Mental Health & Performance.
This position involves providing individual counselling, workshops, and programming designed to support student-athletes. You will work collaboratively with a team to implement wellbeing services that meet the unique demands of high-performance athletes. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term counselling to varsity athletes
- Develop and deliver wellbeing programming and workshops
- Conduct triage and connect students to resources
- Offer mental performance consultations to teams
- Collaborate with coaches on mental health strategies Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or related field
- Minimum five years of clinical counselling experience
- Knowledge of sport or performance psychology
- Ability to work with diverse perspectives
