L&C; French Bakery is looking for a reliable, motivated, and experienced Full-Time Baker / Pastry Chef to join our Baker Street production kitchen. We will also consider someone part time to do the morning baker only (4am-8am).

We are a small French bakery and pâtisserie in Nelson, BC, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and is looking for a long-term position with a growing team.

Position Details

- Full-time: 30–40 hours per week, depending on the season and workload
- Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday
- Regular hours: 4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Days off: Sunday and Monday
- Start date: ASAP
- Wage: $19–$21/hour, depending on experience
- Work location: In person

Responsibilities Your main responsibility will be the morning baking and pastry production needed for our daily service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Prepare and bake croissants, cookies, muffins, cinnamon buns, and other bakery products
- Finish and prepare desserts before opening
- Complete daily mise en place for bakery and pastry production
- Prepare ganaches, syrups, pastry creams, and other pastry components
- Follow recipes and production standards consistently
- Ensure products are prepared to a high standard of quality and presentation
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
- Communicate with the team regarding production needs and any issues that arise

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional baking experience
- Previous bakery or pastry experience is strongly preferred
- Currently living in Nelson or the surrounding area, or willing to relocate before starting
- Fluent English is required for communication and following recipes, procedures, and kitchen instructions
- Reliable and consistently punctual
- Available to work Tuesday through Saturday, starting at 4:00 a.m.
- Able to work independently and manage time efficiently




- If you are on a work permit, you must have at least 1 year remaining on your valid work permit
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
