About Halcyon

Halcyon Logistics Inc. is a growing BC moving and logistics company.

We currently operate four specialized moving brands across British Columbia:

- Vancouver Island Movers
- Sea to Sky Movers
- Piano Movers BC
- Pool Table Movers BC

We're still a small team, and we're looking for experienced movers who want to take on more responsibility and help us build a high standard of field operations.

The Role

As a Mover Team Lead, you're responsible for the move once your crew arrives on site.

You'll lead and work alongside a crew of movers, communicate with customers, coordinate with dispatch, drive company trucks and make sure each move is completed safely, efficiently and professionally.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll be wrapping, lifting, loading and unloading alongside your crew while keeping the overall job organized.

Moving doesn't always go according to plan. Tight access, difficult furniture, inventory changes, delays and customer concerns happen. We need Team Leads who can assess the situation, use good judgement and find a way forward.

What You'll Do

- Lead and work alongside moving crews on residential, commercial and specialty moves
- Review each job, plan the approach and organize the crew
- Properly wrap and protect furniture, belongings and customer property
- Plan and execute secure, efficient truck loading and unloading
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture when required
- Safely operate 1-ton and 3-ton box trucks
- Complete vehicle pre-trip checks
- Communicate professionally with customers throughout the move
- Handle reasonable on-site changes, questions and concerns
- Coordinate with dispatch when important issues arise
- Complete required job documentation and customer sign-off
- Coach newer movers on proper moving, protection and loading techniques

Who We're Looking For

Previous professional moving experience is important for this role.

You'll likely be a strong fit if you:

- Have residential or commercial moving experience
- Are comfortable leading and directing a crew
- Know proper wrapping, protection, loading and furniture-handling techniques
- Are resourceful and able to solve problems in the field
- Are physically capable of moving work throughout the day
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Are reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Take responsibility when something goes wrong

Driving Requirements

Applicants must have

- Valid BC Class 5 driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Experience operating 1-ton and 3-ton box trucks
- Confidence driving larger vehicles in urban, residential and highway environments

Schedule

Moving schedules vary. Some jobs may involve early starts, longer days, ferries, long-distance travel or work outside your usual service area.
