Foundation is a national non-profit organization serving First Nations in Mental Wellness.

Indigenous Wellness

Framework # Our core stakeholders are First Nations communities and the network of First Nations adult and youth treatment centres. To support the mandate, Thunderbird has two office locations, one based in a First Nations community in southwestern Ontario, and the other in the city of London, Ontario. This position is based out of the Delaware Nation office, near the village of Bothwell.

The National Mental Wellness

Manager will establish national representation to strengthen mental wellness capacity of First Nations across Canada guided by the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum, Indigenous Wellness Framework and Honouring Our Strengths frameworks. The position requires that the incumbent complete a variety of assigned tasks requiring knowledge of a virtual office protocol and will demonstrate an ability to assess national needs and evaluate ongoing support.

The National

Manager will develop and maintain strong professional relationships with the stakeholders as well as with Thunderbird Partnership Foundation staff and First Peoples Wellness Circle staff. As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation National Mental Wellness Manager,



you will Support the overall implementation of the First Nation Mental Wellness Continuum Framework (FNMWCF). Design and execute a collaborative strategy with First Peoples Wellness Circle to build and support capacity in the area of mental wellness in the identified regions.

Lead your team to build an understanding of the FNMWC implementation efforts nationally and regionally. Lead your team to build an understanding of the differing and shared objectives and priorities of Thunderbird Partnership Foundation and First Peoples Wellness Circle and apply this knowledge where relevant in national coordination activities. Maintain systems maps to communicate treatment pathways and manage a national database of stakeholders and partners.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and assure readiness, quality, and delivery of services. Assess all assigned projects and coordinate their phases from initiation to completion. Develops and implements a personal and professional development plan targeted at core competencies to ensure continued growth and development in the services provided.



a bachelor’s degree in public administration or relevant field of study with 5 years of work-related experience ~ a master’s degree in public administration or relevant field of study with 3 years of work-related experience experience working with Indigenous/First Nation communities and non-profit settings and government entities. excellent writing skills in English and the ability to communicate clearly. hands on experience with MS Office. proficiency in using Zoom and other platforms as required for hosting online meetings and events.

experience working with First Nations, or an Indigenous organization. fluency in a First Nations language (this is considered an asset). the ability to function autonomously with minimal supervision, to be flexible and adaptable to change. a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. organizational, time-management and multitask skills with the ability to work on multiple assignments in a quick-paced, deadline-oriented environment. public speaking and presentation skills along with community engagement and networking. ability to network and build strong working relationships. ability to travel and access worksites not accessible by public transit.
