Support the Nisga'a culture as a Language & Culture Assistant at Alvin A. McKay Elementary School. This part time position (5.5 hours daily) enhances K-7 education through language integration. Nisga'a School District No.
Your role entails close collaboration with classroom teachers and the Nisga'a Language teacher to fortify students’ language skills. Assist in K-7 classrooms with language instruction
- Collaborate on language and cultural education
- Coordinate with the Nisga'a Language teacher regularly
- Engage parents and community in educational processes
- High school diploma (Grade 12) required
- Familiarity with Nisga'a culture and language practices
- First Nations Language Essentials training preferred
- Fluent in Nisga'a language or eager to learn more
- Contribute to enriching the educational experience through the Nisga'a Language and cultural teachings.
