We currently have an exciting prospect for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Occupational Therapy & Recreation department.
In accordance with established vision and values of Northern Health, the Occupational Therapist performs assessments and interventions related to patients' occupational performance according to established Occupational Therapy practices and national provincial college standards. The occupational therapist works as a team member under the general supervision of the Lead Occupational Therapist of the OT department. This position rotates between acute physical/medical inpatient wards and outpatient services.
The Occupational
Therapist works independently and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Graduate of a C.T. approved program in Occupational Therapy Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using, oral. written and computer communication means.
Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively. Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking. Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs including email and word processing, and data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
