Overview

Clarity-to-Confidence Math helps Grade 8 and Grade 9 students fix the math foundation skills they are missing. Most of our students aren't "bad at math." They have a few gaps from earlier grades that make everything new feel impossible. We have a structured program designed to close those gaps through small online groups of 4 to 5 students.

We're growing and need a tutor to teach our next cohorts.

What you'll do

- Teach small groups of 4 to 5 students over Zoom
- 2 one hour sessions per week to start
- Cover Math 8 and Math 9 foundations: integers, powers and exponent laws, order of operations, solving linear equations, fractions, percent
- Use our lesson plans and materials. You teach, we handle scheduling, billing, and parents
- Communicate student progress to the cohort manager

Who we're looking for

- Experience teaching or tutoring junior high or high school math (certified teachers, EAs, and BEd students all welcome)
- You can explain why a method works, not just the steps




- Patient with students who've decided they hate math
- Comfortable teaching on Zoom with a touchscreen and stylus, drawing tablet, or document camera
- Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach
- Available after school or evenings or weekends (Mountain or Eastern Time)

Nice to have

- Classroom experience teaching Math 8 or Math 9
- Experience supporting students on IPPs or other learning supports
