The Human Resources
Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Advisor. We are seeking a relationship-focused HR professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for partnering with leaders and employees to foster an engaged, high-performing workplace, while approaching their work through a lens of inclusion, belonging, and reconciliation. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for: Leading workplace investigations related to employee relations matters and providing objective findings, advice, and recommendations; Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures; Coordinating, guiding,
and participating in the recruitment and selection process; Participating in other duties and special projects, as assigned.
The ideal candidate has a degree in Human Resources or a related field and progressive experience supporting a broad range of people and organizational initiatives within a unionized public sector environment. They are a collaborative and solutions-oriented professional with robust business acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to partner effectively with leaders and employees. They exercise sound judgment, possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, demonstrate strong organizational capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
A CPHR designation is considered an asset. The District offers an optional compressed work week and excellent benefits and pension plans. Employees also have access to wellness resources, including mental health supports, discounted fitness programs and access to onsite fitness centres.
A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required. Exempt – Permanent, Full-time
