Speech Language Pathologist (4 Hours A Week) Part Time Professional Toronto, ON, CA For over 35 years, The Safehaven Project for Community Living has been providing exceptional care to children with developmental disabilities and complex care needs. Our mission is to provide high-quality, family-centered, and community-based residential and respite care for individuals with complex care needs through respite and residential programs at Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Woodbridge and Aurora homes. Safehaven serves individuals with disabilities and their families, through respite and residential programs at our Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Woodbridge, and Aurora, homes.

That’s why we are currently exploring opportunities to expand our service offerings beyond children to include adults, developing programs and services to care for more medically complex individuals, and implementing innovative therapy and recreational programs for our existing and future clients. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, consultation, and intervention services to medically complex clients to support communication and swallowing needs. Using appropriate standardized and non-standardized tools, the SLP develops and implements individualized care plans in collaboration with clients,



families, and the interdisciplinary team. The SLP monitors progress, provides education to families and staff, makes referrals as appropriate, and ensures compliance with organizational, MCCSS, and professional documentation standards while promoting safe, client-centered care and continuous quality improvement.

Provides consultation (including prevention), evaluation, assessment, intervention and counselling to clients and families around communication Participates in regular quality improvement activities to further refine clinical practice, equitable and efficient service for clients and families and to ensure the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment Shares new knowledge and best practices with colleagues, students and other professionals within the organization, professional body and community Utilize the teaching/learning process to provide education, both formal and informal, to clients/families, colleagues, students, and other professionals within the organization and the community Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) Experience with providing assessment, consultation and therapy for medically complex and/or inpatient rehab preferred.
