Seasonal full-time position (October 2026 – April 2027) Competitive starting wage of $26.82/hour, increasing to $33.53/hour upon successful completion of the probationary period Complimentary meals during shifts through our Colleague Dining Program Opportunities to participate in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives The opportunity to work in an iconic luxury hotel with a rich history dating back to 1939 As a Pastry Cook II , you will support the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastry products while maintaining Fairmont’s standards for consistency, presentation, food safety and guest experience. Prepare, bake, finish and present pastry and dessert items according to established recipes, specifications and presentation standards Support the preparation of pastry items for à la carte service, banquets,
buffets and other hotel operations Maintain consistency in quality, portioning, freshness, temperature and presentation Follow established food safety, sanitation and allergen-handling procedures Report equipment concerns, maintenance requirements, product shortages or quality issues promptly Work collaboratively with Pastry and Culinary colleagues to support efficient service and smooth kitchen operations Follow all hotel policies, departmental procedures, health and safety requirements, Collective Agreement provisions and Fairmont service standards Participate in required training and development activities Full availability for the duration of the seasonal assignment Previous professional pastry, baking or culinary experience, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, banquet or similarly high-volume environment Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques and kitchen practices Culinary or Baking & Pastry education is an asset Red Seal certification or progress toward Red Seal certification is preferred Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, consistency and presentation Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push and pull as required in the performance of duties Ability to work in kitchen environments that may include exposure to heat, steam, cold temperatures and sharp equipment Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with food preparation, storage and kitchen operations Begin your journey with Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, where your talent will rise, and your passion will be celebrated.
