Payroll Specialist

Calgary, AB | Full-Time, Permanent

Megan Cole Advisory is recruiting on behalf of an established automotive organization in Calgary for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its centralized accounting team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is accurate, organized and comfortable taking ownership of payroll administration in a busy, multi-location environment.

What You’ll Do

- Process accurate and timely payroll across multiple locations
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, changes, terminations and deductions
- Review time and attendance information and resolve discrepancies
- RRSP/DPSP administration
- Prepare Records of Employment and other payroll documentation
- Complete statutory deductions, remittances and other payroll requirements
- Payroll reconciliations and month-end and year-end processes
- Respond to employee and manager payroll related questions
- Work closely with Finance and Human Resources to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date
- Maintain confidential employee information and payroll records

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who takes ownership of your work and understands that payroll needs to be right. You’re comfortable managing deadlines, working independently and digging into something when the numbers don’t look quite right.

Ideally, you bring:

- Previous payroll experience, preferably in a multi-location or similarly complex organization
- Familiar with all payroll - types, commission, incentive, hourly,



salary and flat time technician pay
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices and requirements
- Experience with benefits deduction & remittance reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset
- Payroll certification or progress toward certification is an asset
- Automotive experience is helpful, but not required. Strong payroll experience and the ability to learn the business are more important.

- Salary range 70k to 80K all inclusive
- Monday to Friday schedule, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
