Location: This role requires to work onsite (Markham, ON) up to 4 days per week during testing and key implementation activities. We are seeking experienced Payroll Specialists to support a high-volume Canadian payroll function serving employees across multiple provinces in both unionized and non-unionized environments. This role will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and employee support while working closely with Finance, HR, and Operations teams.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Canadian payroll expertise and hands-on experience working with PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS systems. Process payroll accurately and on time for assigned employee groups Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and exception reporting Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards, and collective agreements Support year-end activities, regulatory reporting, and payroll audits Develop and maintain payroll reports and queries Collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations,
and Technology teams Contribute to payroll process improvement initiatives and system enhancements Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required ~3-5+ years of Canadian payroll processing experience ~ Experience processing payroll in a multi-provincial environment ~ Strong experience with PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS ~ Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and statutory remittances ~ Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities ~ Exceptional attention to detail and customer service skills ~ Experience with payroll reporting and reconciliation activities Enjoy comprehensive benefits, pension, adaptable pay options, car-loan support, housing solutions and exclusive staff perks.
