This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and creative physician-scientist to build a nationally and internationally recognized research program while contributing to the care of children with rheumatic diseases across Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will join a supportive Division of Pediatric Rheumatology within a research-intensive university environment that values discovery, innovation, collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful clinical impact.
We are seeking a visionary pediatric rheumatologist with a strong commitment to advancing fundamental and translational science in childhood rheumatic diseases. The position is structured to support academic success, with 80% protected time dedicated to laboratory-based and fundamental scientific investigation focused on understanding the mechanisms, causes, and biological processes underlying pediatric rheumatic diseases. The goal is to generate discoveries that improve diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and ultimately, cure.
The appointee will have access to strong institutional research infrastructure, including state-of-the-art laboratories, core services, collaborative research platforms, and established interdisciplinary networks across the University of Saskatchewan. The University is home to major national research facilities, including the Canadian Light Source synchrotron and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization, creating unique opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration in immunology, inflammation, molecular biology, imaging, infectious disease, and translational medicine. The Division is committed to fostering the development of an independent research program and supporting the successful candidate in achieving their personal career goals.
There will be opportunities to collaborate locally, nationally, and internationally, and to mentor medical students, residents,
graduate students, and early-career investigators. The appointee will play an important role in shaping the next generation of pediatric rheumatology clinicians and scientists.The remaining20% of the position will be devoted to clinical care, providing specialized pediatric rheumatic services to children and families across Saskatchewan. Clinical work will be based atJimPattisonChildren’s Hospital, Saskatchewan’s dedicated maternal and children’s hospital.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical program development, multidisciplinary care models, and province-wide service delivery for children with rheumatic diseases.

Compensation and Location Compensation: Academic Clinical Funding Plan contract with competitive remuneration value. On-call remuneration is provided as per the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program.
