Empower change as a Peer Specialist with Fraser Health, providing valuable community support for mental health and substance use recovery. Utilize your lived experience to assist clients with their unique goals. In this role, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on helping individuals through outreach support services.
Drawing from your insights, you will encourage clients to identify and pursue their recovery and self-management goals while fostering resilience and self-determination. Your hands-on assistance will make a significant impact on the lives of those navigating challenges related to mental wellness and substance use. Key Responsibilities:
- Establish dignifying relationships with clients
- Assist clients in identifying goals and priority needs
- Provide feedback on client care plans
- Report on client progress and interactions
- Support clients in daily living activities
Requirements:
- Two years lived experience in substance recovery
- Training in Peer Support or related area
- Valid Class Five BC Driver’s License
- Current CPR or Naloxone training
- Robust communication and advocacy skills
