We are looking to hire a Sales Associate / Pet Specialist to provide friendly and personalized customer service. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about animals, outgoing, positive, have a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and entrepreneurial spirit and have the right aptitude to help pet parents find the right products for their pets. A successful candidate will have experience in retail sales (experience in a pet store is a plus) and the ability to keep a cool head when dealing with difficult situations.

A successful candidate will also be familiar with all aspects of the store, including products and point of sale systems.

Responsibilities

- Demonstrate knowledge of the products being sold and be able to answer product questions.
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
- Consult with customers on their pets needs.
- Be organized and keep neat appearance.
- Make sure that each cash register is organized and clean.
- Follow store policies and ensure timely attendance.
- Be honest and treat customers with respect.
- Know how to use point-of-sale software and handle cash register transactions.
- Gain in-depth product knowledge through self-learning resources and by participating in scheduled training sessions to recommend the right products to customers.
- Receive inventory, stock shelves, and merchandize as per the direction of the Store Manager.




- Follow directions from the store manager including and not limited to expiry tracking, keeping and organizing paper records, taking phone calls, calling customers for special orders, occasionally training new staff members on selected tasks etc.
- Cleaning, organizing and maintaining the store including bathrooms and backrooms. Help pet owners clean up pet accidents during their visits. Clean up minor pet accidents and help pet parents.
- Sweep and mop the store, dust shelves, clean countertops, windows etc. daily as per store policy
- Carry out products to customer vehicles from time to time.
- Open and close the store as per assigned schedule.
- Participate in marketing initiatives both inside and outside the store at fairs, dog parks etc.
- Above all, represent Global Pet Foods in the community and wear the apron with pride.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.25 per hour
