Role Description This full-time, on-site Pharmacist role is based in Sarnia, ON. The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing counseling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products, and offering professional advice on disease prevention, treatment options, and medication management. Day-to-day duties include reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness, monitoring for drug interactions, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
The Pharmacist collaborates with pharmacy assistants and other store team members to support efficient workflow, promote health and wellness programs, and deliver a customer-focused experience.
The role also involves participation in inventory management, quality assurance initiatives, and continuous career development.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the relevant provincial regulatory body (Ontario College of Pharmacists) and eligibility to practice in Ontario.
- Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including prescription review, medication therapy management, and knowledge of drug interactions and contraindications.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities, with capacity to provide clear counseling and build trust with diverse patients and caregivers.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills to manage high prescription volumes, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, dispensing software, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based retail environment and support colleagues in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, continuous learning, and staying current with clinical guidelines and new therapies.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree; prior community pharmacy experience is an asset.
