The Pharmacist I will play a key role in providing quality healthcare and will have the opportunity to learn and grow within an inter-professional team supporting Alberta Kidney Care North. The ambulatory role will provide care for patients undergoing hemodialysis at the in-center dialysis unit located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Duties include selecting, initiating, modifying, or administering medication therapy, monitoring the patient’s response to therapy, and documenting all direct patient care activities.

Virtual support for dialysis patients in other in-center clinics may also be required. The pharmacist is responsible for providing drug information, education and potential research activities for the Alberta Kidney Care North program. Mentorship and student precepting will be an expectation.

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and productive preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Position located at RAH - Program UAH & Stollery Inpatient Pharmacy Royal Alexandra Hospital Multi-Site: Not Applicable Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Temporary End Date: 30-JUN-2028 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Required Qualifications: Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.

Additional Required Qualifications: Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) Recent direct patient care experience and demonstrated ability to work to full scope of practice including but not limited to, APA, laboratory ordering.

Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a Canadian accredited pharmacy residency program or a post-graduate clinical pharmacy degree, e.g. Active membership with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP). Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services.

Minimum 2 years Clinical Pharmacist experience within the last three years. A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work. Communities.
